Continuing my reflection on the virtues, here are some thoughts on the virtue of moderation. Moderation is a virtue that involves cultivating one’s appetites so that one is neither a slave to them nor driven to mental or physical ill health through excess or deficiency. It is a spiritual practice that can help us to maintain balance in our lives. When we moderate our desires, we can better live healthy and fulfilling lives as we do not live in an all-or-nothing world of extremes.
