Twitter Challenge: Day 8 – Ping others with @
So, have you Tweeted yet today? Never too late, as there is no time or space or limits with our online presence AND our communities!!
What, you mentioned friends and colleagues in your Tweet and they did not reply? Perhaps you only mentioned them by name and not them by their @TwitterName. Twitter seems to have invented the concept of pinging others, so if you want to make sure that other people get a ping when you are mentioning them, be sure to include the @ symbol and then their user name (without a space). For example, want to ping me on Twitter? Then make sure you include @JeffreyKeefer in your Tweet, and I will get a notification!
Want to see who else is participating in our Twitter Challenge? Just take a look at our #TribalSupport tag and you can see the other users using it.
So, Tribe, here are our Challenge Steps for today:
1. Post 2 original Tweets about something related to your interests in personal or professional development, coaching, or your practice AND tag somebody in your Tweet using the @ and their Twitter name. This can be somebody doing our challenge or somebody else you have found on Twitter and you think will value your Tweet.
(and use the #TribalSupport tag someplace in your Tweet)
2. Reply to at least 2 Tweets of other people to engage in conversation and shared learning
(and use the #TribalSupport tag some place in your Tweet if related to our Twitter challenge!)
3. RT at least 2 Tweets of other people (from within to #TribalSupport or via one of the other tags you have found)
Remember, we are doing this challenge to Connect (with each other on Twitter via #TribalSupport), Engage (with a wider audience and via hashtags #), and Grow (outside our comfort zone by learning in public), then simple action steps that we repeat become good habits in our lives. These initial steps will help us to reach the challenge of this goal through step-by-step progression of using Twitter as a tool to help us and our professional interests.
Always remember, use the #TribalSupport tag some place in your Tweet so we can see each other (and try clicking on it to see parts of the conversation you may have missed!). Reply with any comments, questions, thoughts, or ideas as well!
This Twitter Challenge is formally happening within the Life Coach Tribal Support community, though as it occurs in public in Twitter, it is really viewable and open to anybody who wants to follow along or participate in it via the #TribalSupport tag.
